Advent Crown.

Ever since the girls were little we have had an advent crown. The idea is that you light one candle each Sunday in advent culminating with the large candle in the middle on Christmas day.

The symbolism is as follows (or so CC informs me). The four candles are the four gospels, the greenery and berries are the fruits of the earth, the red ribbons are Jesus' blood spilled on the cross and the central candle is Jesus the Light of the World.

Originally we used conifer clippings from the hedge but recently we have been a bit lazy and used plastic. You may also notice that life has been a bit fraught and hectic and we haven't even managed to light the candles for the Sundays so far.
