Big Lorries, Small Roads

This lorry is one of many run by a local haulier; I believe the biggest sugar beet moving in the country.
Sugar beet is a big crop round here, the beets are like swedes or turnips but far larger. It must be the only crop that is dug up at this time of year, producing large quantities of mud The beets are dug up by machine and transported to central points for collection into these lorries. They are then transported to processing plants; the one I know is in Bury St Edmunds, a very large and smelly factory. From now to about February is the cropping period, after this the factory closes down for the rest of the year, the Lorries transport other goods
