Rough but not ridiculous

St Kilda - about 30 miles from us - was recorded to have 144 mph winds yesterday. It has been windy but not too bad here today. I even made the epic journey to the local supermarket without any problem. Life is getting easy.
That said before the causeways were built in the 60s linking all the islands, it must have been a different, and at times like this difficult, world. This shot is on the west coast looking down to South Uist - you can just see the houses on the other side of the bay. Always hoping some rare seabird has been blown onto the shore but no such luck today.
