Beauty? Grandeur?

Grandeur and beauty are so very opposite, that you often diminish the one as you increase the other. Variety is most akin to the latter, simplicity to the former.

This was taken just after sunrise in the woodlands that William Shenstone originally had laid out.

Sunrise was disappointing but the walk down into the valley and back up the escarpment onto the plain on which Birmingham was built was an enjoyable one. Nice way to deliver Christmas Cards.

Christmas Dinner tonight at the Training Restaurant at the local college. Hope they've learnt lots!
