remembering tumi

This was the scene outside Washington Square Park tonight as friends of a slain young woman named Boitumelo "Tumi" McCallum lit candles and shared their grief and pain after she was found murdered in the West Village. Within days McCallum's boyfriend confessed to the crime, though his motive is not fully clear. Apparently McCallum had given a party on the night before her death and did not invite him. Maybe she had her reasons.
