The letter

This is the stone post where Smitty found the letter. This is what it says:
Greetings:
It is our sad duty to inform you that the state visit by the King and Queen of Fairies (Worldwide Council) has come to an end. Your hospitality has been noted; the Royals send their thanks. In addition, they have asked us to relay this tiding:

To Whom It May Concern-
Because of her excellence in demeanor, her Sharp Claws, her exceptional Coat and her attention to the safety and comfort of Her Royal Highness, Smitty Kitty has been given the High Honor of a Knighthood of the Realm and will henceforth be called "Dame Smitty", which is due to her in accordance with her elevated status. The Knighthood also entitles Dame Smitty to an extra measure of tuna (with mouse) at her discretion as payment in kind, with thanks, from Her Royal Highness.
It is declared thusly, by the Human reckoning: 12/12

I tried to photograph the letter for you to see (it sort of glows with little sparkly lights-hard to describe) and it doesn't show up on the monitor. Crazy.

As you might expect, "Dame" Smitty is totally full of herself.
