Silvery dawn

Very early start today, unusually so for a Saturday. Had to be in central London by 7.30 am for a family member to check in at St Thomas's for minor home-same-day surgery. It always amazes me that this great hospital has such a fabulous Thames-side location, right opposite the Houses of Parliament. Who needs a watch when you are in sight of Big Ben!

Drove back home just as the sun was rising to building height in an amazing sky. Mornings like this are really energising. By lunchtime the sky over North Kent was completely clear and a bright, uniform, decidedly un-wintry shade of blue.

It was a bit galling that after such an early start, the small operation didn't happen until gone 2 pm. All went well and I made another trip into town in the late afternoon to bring the 'patient' home. Ready for a chill-out day tomorrow.
