The Day of the Starling
It hadn't snowed last night but everywhere was frozen when I looked out this morning. My body lotion which I keep on the bathroom window was icy cold!
The bird bath was like a mini skating rink when I went out. I got rid of the ice and topped up the water and feeders. Seriously, it was like a summer pool party again once I'd gone back inside. We all had a wonderful reminder from Charlie yesterday about providing drinking water for our birds. I can't agree enough. They will be so grateful and will thank you by pooping down your kitchen window to show their appreciation! Seriously, don't forget water!
When I got back inside with chattering teeth, I got some of the best starling pictures I have ever taken I think, before going to Stratford Upon Avon for a normal Saturday afternoon. It was lovely as always but I had a sad ache in my chest all day and felt like I was on the wrong planet, never mind in the wrong country. I'd love to visit Stratford as a tourist and start appreciating it again instead of going there most Saturdays and just yearning to be somewhere else...
There were people taking pictures everywhere as is the norm. I don't think this photographer appreciated me taking a picture of him!
That's it. I have nothing else to report. My unfortunate FB pals will see my other pictures there but this is my favourite from today.
