What do You Want?

Okay, so I promised a Manta Ray photo today.....but this cute little Gold Dust Day Gecko will have to do. When I went out this morning looking for a little red head bird hubby had seen, I saw this guy on the fence and decided my grandson would get a kick out of his photo. (When he was about 6, he was in Hawaii with us.....he was fascinated by the geckos. Fun Memories.) But the adorable look on his face made me want to blip it today!

Okay, back to the Manta Ray night trip...I did go....and I did see three Manta Rays swimming in the lights under our float. BUT my camera would NOT work!!! Oh well, I saw an amazing site tonight!! I will try to find the site our guide said shows the rays we saw tonight. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t7N6XLnhno Watch the first part of this U-tube video and you will see exactly the manta rays we saw....this video is in the same location we were tonight. Of course, the dolphin was not there tonight....but some divers were on the bottom below us. Anyway, we went out on a large catamaran boat, we put on wet suits, masks, snorkels and fins and hung on to the sides of a special type of surfboard that was equipped with lights shinning down into the water and handles for us to hold on to. The boat was booked full, so the board was a bit crowded. Two of the people in my group got sea sick as the board bobbed around with the wave action....one was next to me and he kept getting his legs over mine as we floated on the water.....a little annoying, but the guy was much worse off than I was at the time....I let it go.

Almost as amazing as the manta ray show, was the night light show. The captain turned off all unnecessary lights on the boat and the stars were amazing. We were talking about the stars and saw a shotting star and THEN there was a meteor that seemed to explode and fly to pieces right in front of us. Needless to say there were many gasps...all kinds of excitement on the boat...some disbelief....and no one got a photo!

Quite the adventure....too bad the sick people could find no joy in any of it. :(
