Car to car

A quick trip to Slough today. Destination: Fiat UK headquarters. I met up with a couple of colleagues, Chris and Massimo, from the Southern Group of Motoring Writers. We were there to present a special trophy to Fiat's PR department. They were the winners of the first Southern Group Karting Grand Prix earlier in the year, and are now the first holders of a new permanent trophy we have just had made.

The next event is in February, where they hope to win it back again. But they will have stiff competition from Audi and Ford, who came second and third behind the Fiat crew, out of 18 competing teams.

I drove to Slough in the Skoda Octavia vRS that I run on long term test for Diesel Car magazine. When I parked it under the huge picture of the newest Jeep - part of the Fiat family - I knew what today's blip would be.
