Sun kissed rata
I hope I am correct in my naming of the tree.Correct me if I'm wrong. It was humming with bees last week but this week there was a tui singing at the top, a few sparrows and a lot less bees.
A southern rata standing 30 odd metres tall it doesn't always flower well every year. It has a different growing habit to northern rata. A Takaka man has written a book with wonderful photos. Maybe it will be in my Christmas stocking this year.
