St. Patrick's Day
The yard was filled with green on this St. Patrick's Day, but after strolling through it, clicking photos in every direction, I was about to step back inside to our dining room when I looked up to see the view just over the top of the fence.
We've lived in the home almost 16 years and have seen the view zillions of times, but we never tire of it. All the calla lilies, nasturtiums, angel's trumpet (Brugmansia), and ice plant from Robinson Jeffers' home will have to wait. I won't make a collage tonight. Here's a view for you. If you need more tap the magnifying glass to see it BIG.
Here's the promised unveiling of the gift that Deb & her Taxman sent us. It is a DVD The House That Ahmet Built all about a profound man, Ahmet Ertegun, who built Atlantic Records from the ground up. It is two-hours of entertainment and information that is so interesting. It includes performances and interviews with Ray Charles, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Bette Midler, Aetha Franklin, Phil Collins, Ben E. King and many more personalities. They are rare, private, and classic clips that we had never seen.
Ahmet Ertegun is described as "one of the most significant figures in the modern recording industry." Because the two of us have always loved music, it was more than delightful to watch this DVD and we will be watching again very soon and then we will be finding friends who want to view it also so we can loan it and mulitply the delight of this gift.
To Deb & her Taxman -- Thank YOU! We also appreciate the bar of Big Fat Soap Co. soap that you included in the package. Woohoo!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
