Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

The Final Moments

The Final Moments of St. Paddy's Day . . . we watched the sun slip into the Pacific off the shore of Laguna Beach. Lots of people were gathered along the boardwalk, but I zoomed-in to capture the sun and later realized that I also captured this solitary couple. I like that.

The two of us had stopped at the Cafe in the Hotel Laguna to watch the sun go down and just before that final performance of the day, we walked from the cafe and over to Main Beach. I stayed behind the grassy knoll and did not walk onto the sandy shore -- tomorrow we'll go to the sand.

We took the three pups to a place new to us -- "Beach City BowWow" in the city of Costa Mesa -- and before Chloe, Mitzi, and Max even knew we were leaving, they were whisked-off to their "home away from home" for the next two nights. It was the drive from home to Costa Mesa that was hilarious.

The 30+ minute drive was a moment in crazy dog behavior. We have a doggie car seat for the backseat of the car and another mini-seat that hangs over the headrest in the front seat. So I sat in the backseat of the car with Mitzi in the car-seat and Max "hooked" into the "human" seatbelt between me and Matzi. At one point Max jumped-up into the carseat with Mitzi. Meanwhile, in the front seat, Chloe was going wild in the little portable seat. She wanted to be in the backseat with me. So she jumped out of the seat and back into the seat and all over the front passenger seat of the car. Their harnesses are hooked to the carrier seats straps.

I was just so tired that the entire episode gave me the giggles, so Mr. Fun was in the front-seat filling the sole role of responsible behavior as he drove us the 35+ miles toward California's coast.

Of course it was stupid to come west to the coast because news reporters late this evening are predicting that tomorrow southern California will receive its first dose of nuclear "uh-oh" from the Japanese tragedy. We have to decide who is telling the truth about its potential danger. A local university scientist says that it is not anything to worry about. So I'm going to choose to not worry.

I hope you've had a fabulous Irish holiday.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
