Having a few days off and popped into town today for some Xmas shopping . This is a view of one of the finest Granite building on the planet - Marschial College - home of the local council . The council may live in a grand building but they do not make grand plans. Any hope of city centre regeneration appears mired in party politics and vested interests. There was at one time plans for a grand plaza outside Marschial College - no hope of this now - pedestrianisation of Broad Street cannot happen I understand and some functional glass office buildings are going to be built opposite Council HQ which will spoil the view of this fantastic building .
