Back then, during Jesus' time, people called him Yeshua. It eventually evolved to Joshua. Jesus is just a Greek version of the name. And to think white people make fun of Mexicans for naming some of their kids Jesus! Joshua has always been one of the most popular names all around. Oh, the irony!
