my heart told my head
- today was ripe for photo opportunity and i even had my camera. however, i failed to take many of the photos i wanted to. too bad. shot this on the way home. adequate. i liked that: though it feels like winter, the flowers are trying.
- spent the morning in bed reading 'the quiet american.' i finished it tonight. so good. i had my doubts, but i should always trust graham greene and his ability to tell a story. to tug at my heart. and to get me thinking. what i love is not just that it's a really good story, creatively conveyed, and with an interesting point. what i love is that his language is beautiful and poetic.
- the latter part of my day entailed lots of writing, stuffing, and licking. wedding invitations. for my dearest ineffable. i really actually enjoyed the task. it's nice to start and finish something tangible in one day. i needed the sense of accomplishment. with my school work i often feel as though all of what i have to do is unending. and rather esoteric. i did something practical! ha.
- i am really preoccupied with 'the quiet american' right now. i keep thinking about it. which is good, because i'm going to write a paper on it. anyway here is a song that is appropriate for so many reasons, not the least being, the insistence on spring leaves:
---
and if your strife strikes at your sleep
remember spring swaps snow for leaves
you'll be happy and wholesome again
when the city clears and sun ascends
compliments of occhiverdi you should listen to and love this song - 'winter winds' mumford & sons
