Cupcakes and Diplomacy

No time to bake cupcakes for myself today, so I picked some up from the bakery; I knew my sister-in-law would ask whether I had cake today, and I didn't want to be chided for not having any. These weren't nearly as good as they looked, but that's really my only complaint about the day. Even the rain (yes, again) didn't dampen my spirits. Another lovely birthday. Thanks to my husband for his exemplary diplomacy :)
