Scratching around

A bright, sunny day - perfect conditions for skiing with a couple of inches of fresh snow on the hills and Fred zoomed off to tackle the slopes of Cairngorm. I'm so glad he had a good day as it's been a long time since he's been skiing and it was just the right conditions to start up again. I don't ski, as yet. Fred is working on this.

While Fred was away, I met mum and we caught the bus through to Nairn to visit Gran. We spotted deer grazing in the fields near Inverness and flocks of geese near the airport. The sun was shining, but there was too much of a chilly nip in the air to be able to take Gran out and about. Instead, Mum and I did her messages and tidied up her garden and house. We finished the crossword together and had a hearty lunch. It was lovely to catch up face to face.

Before we caught the bus home, we popped into Nairn Museum, where Mum pointed out her Grandad's drifter boat of which there was a photograph in the Fishertown room of the museum. We'll have to take Gran there when it's warmer as I'm sure she could put a lot of names to faces and tell us who's a relation. It's an extremely interesting museum, especially when it's my own family history on display.

Back to Inverness and to see Fred off on the sleeper. I'm staying up in the Highlands for the rest of the week. Yay! Holiday!
