Night light.
Day 1 in the Sea Urchin tent. (Cold, very cold.)
The car fell eerily silent as we drove the terrifying route over the Bealach na Ba to Applecross in high winds, driving rain and poor visibility. It's the highest road in Scotland and climbs relentlessly and dramatically. Having made it to the top and over, I have never felt so relieved to see a campsite and felt so eager to pitch a tent. Greeted with big hugs and some hot food we settled down to a stormy night. The children looked cosy sleeping shoulder to shoulder with their night light and I shivered my way towards morning..
