Friday night I was riding back to the house where I was staying and about 3/4 of a block away from the house I rode over the bottom of a beer bottle. The bottle shredded my tire, which immediately locked up my front wheel and sent me over the bars.
I did remarkably well, considering, but my little camera that was in my front pocket did not - the LCD is completely destroyed. So I now have a "surprise" camera.
"Surprise! This is what your pictures look like!"
I used it for most of Saturday - I usually zoomed it into two notches so the perspective was similar to a 35mm lens on my SLR and then just sort of aimed and shot. Then the pattern of the blinking LED changed and I thought the card was full or something - it wasn't, the switch had gotten moved to movie mode and it was a lot harder to tell that without the LCD.
So on Sunday I took about 4 pictures, all with my cell phone - farther and farther down the image quality chain.
Anyway, this was a pretty sidewalk crack.
