Easter

Today was a nice Easter Sunday. First off, I really enjoyed spending time with my Sunday School girls hearing how excited they were about the Easter Bunny making visits to their houses. It was nice to hear about each child's Easter Morning Tradition through the eyes of K-2nd grade girls. Then we had a nice time going through the Resurrection Eggs. Each egg has an item in it that symbolizes the story of the Resurrection and each girl had to first tell me what they thought the meaning of that item in the egg was. Most of the girls were right on with their guesses! Here is an example of the Resurrection Eggs

Then I was off to my parents house for the rainy-day egg hunt & meal with the family. We enjoyed a delicious flank steak meal that they prepared and then hid eggs inside the home, since the sky decided to open up with a downpour. The kids didn't care one bit where the hunt ended up and even re-hid them for each other after they found them the first time. It was bittersweet because my 12-year-old niece decided to hide eggs this year and not hunt for eggs. These kids are growing up way too fast. Her older sis, Amanda, was home sick with the stomach flu. Poor thing! My brother was out-of-town with his family, so it was a small but fun celebration of Jesus resurrection. Happy Easter all!
