wine not?
Even though our 'No Telly Week' Experiment ended a week or so ago, we decided that we really enjoyed it for the most part, and immediately decided to keep it up as much as possible. So, we went through our virgin plus box thingy and removed (and this is for you, Scobes so you can see that you were incorrect...) ALL of the smash we'd been collecting, we scraped it all back so we wouldn't be tempted to indulge in a bit of post experimentation dirty telly watching.
All the 'Come Dine With Me' episodes. Gone. ALL of the Desperate Housewives (garbage), GONE, all of the well, the usual pish that clogs up your box (yes, even Peppa Pig was culled within an inch of her life). Now our box is lovely and wholesome.
We decided that setting the table and lighting a candle and choosing some music to put on made the night seem so much more chilled and time went slower - no longer was the night chopped up into half hour or 60 minute increments, we had the whole night to sit around and blether or read or study (Bry) or panic about CD mixers (me) and we'd look at the clock, see that it was only 8pm and...well, decide there was plenty of time to open another little tiny wee bottle of wine.
And herein, my faithful friend, lies the problem. My other faithful friend - wine.
Setting the table and lighting a candle and choosing some music to put on set up the vibe that we were having a nice little soiree round the dinner table. Add into the mix some excellent tunes and boof - before you knew it one bottle, two bottle, three bottle floor.
So. Now that we are into our new no telly regime (no telly Tues - Sun and only at the weekends if we want to zonk) we are going to have to add in 'no telly AND no wine'. Otherwise it's just going to get silly.
I wonder which one will go first.
I'm thinking we love wine more than Masterchef.
