"Security Engineering"
It's somewhat ironic that I finally got my hands on my copy of "Security Engineering" on the day the general election was announced in the UK. The power of fear is strong, and it's a power that is frequently manipulated in politics, especially in the face of such disasters as the 7/7 bombings in the UK and, of course, the 9/11 attacks in the US.
One of the questions we will be asked in the general election is: what should we do to combat these threats to our security? People from all parties believe they have the answer; but look again at this book. It's a big book. It covers a lot of ground. The simple fact is that security is very, very difficult. And any politician that offers a simple solution to a complex problem.. well, they should read some more books.
