Street food for the red shirts

Today is the fifth day the red shirts occupy the Ratchaprasong intersection in Bangkok. Along the streets there is lots of food available for them. These small businesses are making profit whereas the big shopping malls loose enormous sums of money because they have stayed closed since Saturday.

Later today the prime minister declared a state of emergency which in practice gives the authorities more powers to act. It remains to be seen whether they in fact will do something.

The state of emergency does not really affect our daily lives here in Bangkok.
