Informatics and Washing

I caught sight of this incongruous line of washing gracing what appeared to be the roof of the University's Informatics department this morning. It so reminded me of foreign cities where you find washing hanging on the most unlikely places.
But this is Edinburgh and it just seemed strange to see the seat of modern technology home to one of the oldest methods of drying clothes, and this on its rooftop too.

The castle is today well and truly on the market with a big FOR SALE notice board attached to the boundary wall. So now the business of allowing people interested in buying or just interested in seeing how other people live to roam around the property has begun. I'm desperately trying to keep the place tidy, but it is difficult to know where to stash odds and ends when the cupboards are all up for inspection.
I suppose under the beds is OK.
In the end I'm sure it doesn't really matter.

When we sold our very first home, I had 2 small children under 1 1/2 and keeping the toys under control was a daily problem but when nobody came to view, I eventually relaxed to the extent that the one couple who did appear and who eventually bought the house found me snowed under a mountain of toys and dressmaking material and trying to put a meal together. It obviously didn't put them off.

It just goes to show that's what's for you , won't go by you.
I must remember that.
