Our five mile world

lambing time

Last saturday we had a spectacular shower of large hailstones followed by a thunder and lightning storm which fried our internet connection.........hence no Blips from our five mile world.

BT finally sorted it out by posting us a new hub five days later. Thanks to them!!

I have to say I adapted to the loss more readily than I had imagined. I did miss everyone else's blips...............what was yoga mamma up to, pappu, nina54,cabbagetree sliverback. wenders56,etc etc ......what was going on in their worlds?

However, life is always busy around here and with Bill going into hospital for his eye operation on Monday, we are rushing to dig all the raised beds and sort out the polytunnel. After the op he cant lift anything heavy or bend too low for several weeks.
He thinks he'll become melancholy. He is such an active soul.

Amy and Eve have come for a few days as their Mum needed some child care and we needed to see some of our grandchildren.
Finlay.................when are you coming up to see us?
Louisa and Ruby???

Today began with feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, playing on the tree swing, completing two jigsaw puzzles, visiting the grannies, then after lunch, we baked winnie the poo cakes and walked up the road to visit our local farm.Newborn calves, lambs and nine little 4 day old collie puppies to delight the girls.

After a supper of spaghetti bolonaise,I read Eve a bedtime story...................the same one I used to love reading to her Mum and Aunt whilst Amy completed a 500piece jigsaw downstairs.

I'm not sure whether to back blip or not. Somehow doesnt feel right to do so.........not sure what that's about.

It is great to be back on line
Tomorrow, a picnic in the woods is planned with a couple of their friends.
Hope the weather is kind to us.
