...and I continue to use the vines to educate myself in the ways of monochrome tonality. I kind of abandoned monochrome imaging when I got a DSLR - I had been sort of a slave to mono for a long time because black and white film is so cheap, and I could process it myself, so I went nuts and threw myself into the aesthetics of color.

I still love color, and I do a lot of thinking and photographing in color, but it's nice to look at mono again with a new respect and understanding. Now if only I could look at composition with a new respect and understanding!
