Definitely not picture perfect

I've been trying to think of something to photograph today. Something pretty. Something eye-catching. Something that just seemed right, and made me want to write about it.

And then it occurred to me that everything that I want to write about isn't necessarily picture perfect.

I like pictures of beautiful meals. Feasts that just look fabulous on tables that are beautifully set.

We rarely eat like that around here. We do make it to the table. I do fix meals, and we do eat off of plates.

There are the rare occasions when plates actually match and the food looks like it goes together. However, most meals are more like this - an odd combination of hummus, tabouli, pita chips, pickles, grilled cheese, and chocolate chip cookies. Served on whatever plates I find first, including ones leftover from Christmas.

The company is always good.

And I am grateful for all of it.
