Boom times are long gone . . .
After the oil and natural gas plays out and 40 years of efficiency gains are factored into today's farming, the net result is that fewer people can make a decent living in this part of the country. About 50% fewer by my calculation. Throw in large retail stores like Walmart every 50 miles and the bottom-line is small formerly Norman Rockwell-like towns with boarded store fronts and more than ample parking along deserted main streets.
Note ju4bluz walking in front of Mobray's.
