This patch of ground has just been drilled. Next step is to clear the drilled earth with a giant earth-moving vehicle like this one.
The driver let me take a pic. He was an expert, moving the scoop around in a 360' arc as if it were his own limb.
The neck of the scoop looks like the neck of a dinosaur moving about. Fascinating. If you look closely you can see another in the background.
This particular type of work can only be carried out late at night, because the large trucks carrying the rubble/earth away are only allowed on the roads after 10pm.
