Long Slow Distance

The right track

Since training for last Sunday's Brighton Marathon I've kept to the hard surface of the roads and was sorely missing the trails of the Downs. Running off road has been a slippery affair recently anyway, but today I was able to venture off the tarmac and onto the network of public footpaths that intersects the countryside.

This public right of way is always present, cutting its wiggly way through the crop field, which now is only just starting to sprout. In a few months I'll be running through the lush waist high growth. Such a magical experience.
