Pollarded

I always think pollarded trees look a little forlorn, but it won't be long until this fine specimen is sprouting and becoming lush with foliage.

However, in this extreme condition, the tree takes on a mysterious, alien, and strangely revealing form which has a certain beauty, particularly when set against the magnificent blue sky and flint wall.
