Bryn Celyn

This is the Royal Oak pub in the Hamlet where I live, there are roughly 47 houses in our community. Many years ago Bryn Celyn had its own shop, bowling green, school, Chapel and was thriving.

Sadly as time has gone by all but the Chapel still exist. This was still being used for worship up to 1982.

It was then purchased by a local man and has not been used since, it has fallen into disrepair and is due to be sold at Auction in the next couple of months.

The house which I live in is in a Terrace of 18, built about 200yrs ago. They were built for the people who worked in The Mills in Greenfield Valley.

These remains of these workings can still be seen and are maintained by the Greenfield Valley Heritage Trust

Blips for the next few days will feature very locally as I am an injured blipper, sprained/torn ligaments in my foot when walking the dogs last night in the Valley. Very swollen and painful.
