Dragon
I have blipped a lot about my life, my thoughts, my goals, passions, feelings........but there is one thing that I have not shared that in my opinion, completes me.
My Dragon Shades. Yes my sunglasses. I know I know, this might sound trivial, but I think that sunglasses tell a lot about a person. Are they outdoorsy, artsy, high fashion, low key, subtle, bold. So I thought that it was time to share my sunglass preference with the blip world.
I have had these sunglasses for about six years. My only pair for six years. Because I don't like to own several of something. I like to own ONE of something that I absolutely adore and can't live without. Why own fifteen pairs of jeans when I have four of the most perfect pairs hanging in my closet. It's all I need. Some might think that's a minimalist type of thing, no not really, I just love the quality of something way way way over quantity.
Which leads me to tonight's blip. I am having a dilemma with my sunglasses. If you haven't already noticed, my shades have been used and abused. One lens is shattered, lots of chip marks, kind of blurry when I look through them.....but I continue to wear them every day because I love them! My husband can not believe that I continue to wear them this way. "Honey, you seriously need a new pair of sunglasses, these are trashed". Well easier said than done my fine favorite friend, sunglasses are like a pair of jeans, finding the perfect fit is near impossible.
So I have owned two pairs of really nice sunglasses over the last month. I have taken both back. Sadly I have taken them back. But the problem is, they just didn't fit right. My favorite of the two pushed up over my eyebrows every time I smiled. But they were so cool, I almost considered just becoming a very serious person so the problem would be solved. HA! Kidding of course, impossible for me. One of my favorite friends actually owns them and we laughed so hard about this when she pulled them out at my house during a play date, the day I had decided that I needed to take mine back. Bummer! They look bad to the bone on her. I'm not kidding, super uber cool on you girl! But she had to agree, yes, they just didn't stay in place when I smiled.
So, I guess the moral of this little story is this. I am having a hard time replacing these beauties. I do like change, especially after six years, put I am thinking I will be sporting a new identical pair of Dragons soon. I mean why not, I love what I love and I LOVE these. I mean come on, I blipped them. They are obviously important to me. So I'll deal with the crack and chip marks for a little while longer. My husband actually found this same pair on line for me, at 1/3 of the price. So win win for me. Cheaper and still perfect.
And ps. he just said to me, "Are you seriously blipping about those sunglasses right now????". Well yes, I say, I most certainly am!
Good night blip world......hope you all have a pair of sunglasses that make you feel even more complete than you already are every single time you put them on.
