Dirty Dan Days

Fairhaven was one of four towns that merged in 1903 to form the city of Bellingham. The town was platted in 1883 by Daniel Jefferson Harris, more commonly known as Dirty Dan. The Dirty Dan Days Seafood Festival this weekend is the eighth annual celebration of that founding.

One of the events of the festival today was a salmon toss. On the right side of the photo you can see one of the contestants in the Dirty Dan look-alike contest.
