A sight for sore eyes
Every year, the Minneapolis Institute of Art hosts an event called "Art in Bloom." Artists create floral arrangements that mirror or play off specific works of art throughout the galleries. This shot only shows a small portion of the floral arrangement (which stood on two pedestals and was about six feet across), but I liked the justaposition here.
Just so you know, all of my shots (except for my very first posting) are taken with my iPhone. I think of it as a 21st Century box camera, and I enjoy seeing what I can do in the context of its limitations. At such rare times as I'm able to upload directly from my iPhone (it's really slow and only works sporadically), the techno-note says so (like "iPhone App, f2.8"). More often than not, though, I've been uploading images via my PC at work, as the process is fast and the images go through every time.
Running my images through my PC gives me the chance to do some small Photoshop tweaking, but it's absolutley minimal (like sharpening) in keeping with the spirit of that box camera thing. The downside is that the (minimal) techno-data is lost. For other iPhone users, my camera app of choice is called CameraFlash. $0.99 USD. I think it does the best job of holding detail in highlights and shadows.
