Globe Lily, Calochortus pulchellus

The Friday hike was to Pine Canyon in Foothill Regional and Mt. Diablo State parks. This particular flower species is endemic to Mt. Diablo. There is a similar yellow globe lily that grows elsewhere in the Bay Area. The lilies are blooming three to four weeks later than usual due to the cold, wet weather we have had for the past month.
