Cormac's First Communion

Today was Cormac's First Communion day. Cormac's Dad, Robert, is Mum's big cousin. First Communion is the last of the three major sacraments (the other two being baptism and confirmation) that boys and girls have to become full members of the Catholic Church, so it was a very special day for Cormac. Unfortunately, today was not a day when I felt like socialising, especially not with Saul. Saul's Dad is one of Mum's cousins too, and Saul is a few months older than me. He made me cry a few times (although to be fair to Saul, most of the time for no reason other than I just didn't want him near me). But eventually I relaxed and started to enjoy myself. That was the point at which Saul chose to squirt me in the face with a water pistol. Cue floods of tears from me. Mum decided it was time for us to go home then.
