May Dip
so after about 2 hours sleep i was p just before the crack of dawn, pulling on my swimming cozzy, and wondering why the heck i decided to do what i was about to do. met tara at the end of her road and together we ventured (already slightly shivering) to castle sands, where a mass of students were already on the sand, with bonfires, marshmallows and hot flasks of tea waiting for the first light of day when we were supposed to run into the lovely icey cold north sea. we waited till it got a little bit lighter, but couldnt wait much longer as we were already too cold, so tara and i did our dash into the sea. yes my camera came with me, that determined i was to get a good blip, however there was waaaay to much splashing and fearing for my future blips the camera had to remain away until we were safely out the water and being warmed by the free towel kindly provided to us! so here is a very unflattering picture of me, but is the sole proof i did indeed achieve the dip! it was a painful walk back to the house, more for the sandy cold feet than anything else.
that said, i think ill do it all again again next year - maybe wear my wetsuit next time?!
