Teacher Appreciation Week
This morning after running the kids to school and Landon to preschool...I returned to the first school! It is Teacher Appreciation Week and I knew I really wanted to show my appreciation to them. Teaching is not just an 8 to 5 job and it isn't just a paycheck to teachers. They're shaping our kids' futures...so I'm always eager to let them know how much they are valued. Each year we assign a certain grade to a certain day for each of the 5 days of Teacher Appreciation Week. Then we go with a different theme each day in which to decorate the Teachers Lounge and serve food based on that theme. I have a 2nd grader and a 5th Grader. The 2nd graders chose the Italian Theme and the 5th graders chose a Mexican theme since it will be Cinco de Mayo on that day. Luckily, a mom with a knack for entertaining headed up our 2nd grade theme. We all pitched in with food or money to help. My contribution was helping to decorate and making alfredo sauce for the staff at the school....a pasta bar went along with that. There were also italian cream sodas and Tiramisu for dessert...if ONLY I didn't have to leave I may have sneaked a slice. :D
Happy Teachers Week all you wonderful teachers out there!!!
