Success

Tonight's Blip was a difficult one. Jo took a photo of her Dad today which was good for us to see but after uploading it and typing a blurb I decided that a photo of him might not be something he would want the world to see, even though it is a happy photo. Read at the end of this to see what I was originally going to post.

Jo and I have reason to celebrate. She has half a day a week at a local vet surgery and it is turning into more casual work. Plus my job is going very welll. So we are sort of celebrating. My ex-employer dropped into work today. We chatted and she felt sorry for me and Jo, saying that it never rains but it pours. I was quick to point out that I have a good job, Jo is getting some employment and while she is out of work she is there for her Father. To me that is a big positive. Things are good in the Elliott household.

So, here is what I wrote earlier before I changed the image of Dad to the one I have now.

Jo took this pic while visiting her Dad this morning. For the first time in a week he was sitting up in bed, all be it with some mechanical assistance. Yes, it is a temporary respite but it is testament to the amazing care he is getting that he has managed to be in a sitting position today.

Folks, his expression might not look all that happy but Jo managed to capture an image of him mid-chat. We might have difficulty understanding what he is saying but I can assure you, he knows what we say. To see my Father-in-Law as animated as this makes me very happy, even though both Jo and I know it is a temporary respite.

Jo and I talked about posting an image of Dad here on Blipfoto. Dad has been a part of my Blip from the start as has a number of his boys, his daughter (my lovely wife) his grandkids and his great grandkids, not to mention Jassy his dog who is now under my care. He is family here. My Blips are posted on Facebook so the younguns can see him and I found out recently that some of my long lost friends follow me here on Blip too. Let's face it: It is a great way stay in contact.

Today is a good day for Dad in a week that hasn't been so good for him.
