Fixed...

... for now.

This is the broken part from the inside of our washing machine. One of the bits that makes it go round. I had to work from home yesterday to wait in for an 'afternoon' appointment for the washing machine guy to come and fix it. We couldn't use it because when it was on it sounded like a herd of angry elephants stampeding through the flat. But its fixed for now.

This made me think. Why can't service/delivery companies give you a more personal/flexible service rather than force you to stay in and wait for hours?. Some companies only give "sometime between 8am and 6pm" appointments. That's no bloody use. Just doesn't fit in with people who are out at work or have other commitments. And you have to wait weeks for an appointment. Aaaarghh. What we need is a house sitting service when someone will wait in your house for the delivery/repair etc.

I think I've spent more on the maintenance agreement than the cost of two new washing machines, but there is something in me that doesn't like to throw stuff away when it can be fixed.

Think I need a dram tonight. Maybe at the Vaults .. ?
