nothing like a balloon release to make...

....everyone happy

.... our environmental consciences feel a wee bit worried about where all the balloons end up

...our competitive urges wonder why it couldn't have been a balloon race

....those of us with creative impulses tell people with environmental consciences and competitive urges just to enjoy the view.


it was a family fun day. and after cb1 recovered from an accidental but very painful poke in the eye from cb2, and cb2 got over his fear of meeting characters, we had fun.

then we went off for more fun. cb1 rode a reluctant pony in the sunshine while her brother found the delights of riding crops, bales of hay and blackberry picking.

we dropped cb2 off in a rowdy soft play in a depressing ex-industrial area and found my skate buddies by chance down by the water - i skated and cb1 rode her tweenie scooter.

we ate ice cream and picked up a sweaty boy from his party.

a good day.
