Another old friend
On Tuesday evening, I got together with Kevin, a friend who dates back to the mid-70's. We used to work together in the advertising department of a consumer electronics chain. He was the brilliant-but-tormented, geeky kid who we hired to do product photography. I had been handling that, but no longer had time for it because I was getting so busy doing radio production.
In the intervening decades, Kevin did very well for himself. He went on to become the television ad producer for another consumer electronics chain (Best Buy) and ended up as a corporate director until he retired a few years ago. Me? Never got around to planning for retirement, so I'll be working until I drop - glad I love what I do! But I digress...
Kevin was back in town after wintering at his second home in Palm Springs and wanted to reconnect. We spent a fair amount of time talking about our respective health adventures (as us high-milers tend to do). His two months in a coma due to bleeding in the brain trumped my kidney removal.
The good news is that we're both healthy now, and we're all caught up on each other's news until next time.
Once again, the iPhone demonstrates its low-light limitations, even with my Camera Flash app (which helps, but is no silver bullet).
