Mileage matters

Had dinner with Dave, a friend of 40 years. Dave, a pediatrician, got a Harley a couple years ago, and he wanted to meet at a particular little Italian joint because it sponsors a series of motorcycle rides throughout our warm season. His first dining experience there had been mediocre, so (because of the biker factor) he wanted to give it another chance. Food was OK, but in the end, getting together with old friends isn't really about the food.

Over the past several years, I've been making a greater effort to keep in touch with friends (and fellow high-milers) who date WAY back. I love my newer friends, but there's something special about those who have stood the test of time.

iPhones are crappy in low light, even with the CameraFlash app, which does much better than the standard iPhone camera. Anyhow, this is Dave melting into the booth after we both ate too much.
