Between Dee and Don

Chasing brighter weather, we escaped dull Aberdeen and headed off up Deeside to Ballater where we stopped for lunch and took R to see the exhibits at the Old Station.

To return by a different route, we crossed country to Donside and enjoyed views of the Cairngorms on the way.

Who would have thought that scenery like this is only an hour from the city?
