Our Two Favorites
James Taylor & Carole King
When we entered the Hollywood Bowl last evening, we made sure to stop at the merchandise tent because our daughter had asked us to purchase her a "tank-top" or "girly shirt" if any were available. I was delighted when Mr. Fun also purchased this combo CD and DVD set. It was recorded in 2007 when Taylor and King performed at the 50th Anniversary of the Troubadour in Hollywood.
Those several concerts had been such a success, they birthed this newest reunion concert tour. Taylor and King have been friends since the early 1970s and each of their careers has enhanced the other's. Their gifted-ness is nothing less than magnificent. They have each shared their gift with all of us.
They have certainly added immensely to our lives.
I especially enjoyed Carole King's words here on the CD jacket:
". . . James's and my musical connection and friendship continue to transcend time and place. Whenever we're together, there we are. And now, here you are. I feel tremendous gratitude to be able to share this experience with James, and, most of all, with you."
Being with our best friends, Scott & Peg, last night, made the experience absolutely complete.
Thanks for reading this far. It's been so fun to read the comments of many blippers who enjoy these two performers.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
P.S. I have back-blipped yesterday's concert experience.
