The Cats' Piazza.
We live in my grandparents' old home and it has a lovely front porch, or piazza as they always said. Today I dusted off the winter grime and set it up for yet another summer. It's tiny, maybe 7ftx7ft, but with a high ceiling, you step down to enter. As a child it seemed huge, I spent hours here, I grew up just next door, down the path. Endless hours of Parchesi games with my grandparents, surrounded by the sounds and sweet smells of summer evenings. Watching starry nights and fireflies, learning the songs of all the birds. It still holds the magic, decades later for me and I can't wait for our first dinner at the table tonight and a toast to a summer yet to be.
As you can see, Raspberry and Max are as thrilled as I am!
