Daingean

When I driving home from work in Edenderry, Offaly to my hotel in Tullamore, Offaly, I pass through the town of Daingean. It's not very big with a town and townland population of 777 (2002), but it has it's own volunteer fire station which is very quaint and it is built onto the side of a large building which may be the town hall.
Yesterday evening on the RTE news, this very fire station was featured as a decision has been taken to close it and one other, so I thought I'd Blip it.
Felt like a real coincidence to me that I see it for the first time and later that evening it's on the news.
I hope the townsfolk kick up about it as the next nearest fire station is in Tullamore, 25 minutes away!
