Summer Breeze and Brilliant Light
I was thinking about silence, and how it was anything but.
I wandered to the shop, and listened to the noise of children playing, people cutting their grass, neighbours chatting in the warmth of the early evening.
I could hear planes revving at the airport - not sure what was happening there, but I could taste air fuel in the air.
I could hear the ferry arriving at the harbour.... engines revving there, as they move to reverse throttle, and If I had stood - I would have heard the waves as they hit the shore about 20 minutes after docking. The ship seems to cause a very tiny tsunami all of its own. Every day, twice a day.
The blackbird around just now, are more joyous than every before. All of them are singing to their hearts contents, every street you are on, there is another one.
I heard this helicopter coming and snapped it. Do you see the circular rainbow round the sun. That was still there half an hour later, as I sat in the garden. There was a tornado earlier. I think maybe the armed forces are having a wee war game over our heads! Wonder if there are any big ships in the clyde?
In the garden, I listened to my garden dripping, after watering. The plants ticking as they dried up and straightened out. I listened to my cats crunching their biscuits (of which they are becoming dangerously addicted).
Best of all, I listened to the kids playing footie over the back. there's aBig Game of Football most nights. Kids congregate on the field from all over the estate - and often can range in age from 7 to 19. It's a good noise. It's not a nasty game. There are shouts of Penalty, and Foul, and GOAL, but mostly, there is laughing and squealing, and I am always amazed by the range of voices - deep newly broken, and young squeaky ones - altogether and having fun.
If you click the link, and input KA10 6ub, and then use the wee orange man to go to street view, you can see the park in all it's glory. Of course they were round first thing in the morning. But if you look close... you might hear the echos....
